Natural Livestock Wound Ointment

Holy Guacamole does this stuff work!

Poor Bessie got udder rot from edema after her calf was born and it was so hard to get rid of until we discovered a Natural Livestock Wound Ointment ! Side note, udder rot sounds horrible, but is comparable to athlete’s foot.

Every livestock owner should have this stuff on hand. Actually, you probably already do…

In a food processor, you’ll want to combine:

1/4 C Olive Oil

1/4 C Raw Organic Unfiltered Honey

4 Drops of Tea Tree Oil

4 Garlic cloves (peeled)

Blend on high until it is a smooth consistency. You may end up with a couple small pieces of garlic, but that is ok 🙂

This will store in a jar for a long time. I keep some at my milking stanchion, because it even helps with mastitis.

This works so well because of the anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and antibacterial properties in honey and garlic. The tea tree is great for keep the flies away and the olive oil helps it apply a bit more smoothly.

Happy Natural Healing!
